Have you ever thought to yourself, wow I making such an impact in these children’s lives? I’m sure most of you have, if not then why teach? BUT, that’s not the real issue teacher deal with on a normal basis. Here’s a question I ask myself every day and I never really expressed my thoughts on this is, why are teachers so underappreciated? Why do we not get the acknowledgment we deserve, the salary we deserve. When you hear someone say they earned what they get paid just think of how much more work we put in for such little amounts of chump change that is thrown at us. All the little things we do for our students, to teach them, care for them, guide them and we seem to be looked at like baby sitters.
Teachers are the reason billionaire become billionaires. A first-grade teacher, tenth-grade teacher and a college professor all mold their students into successful adults. If you ask anyone who their favorite teacher was in high school or college and they can tell you and express to you that they influenced them is any kind of way can help a student grow to become what they want to be. Teachers are given very little credit when a ton of credit is due. Lesson planning, behavior counseling, teaching, grading, evaluations, these things aren’t just done in the 7.5 hours at work every day. These things get completed during late nights in the classroom or going home with their work and spending the whole weekend doing work rather than enjoying their free time.
So, next time you see a teacher or any school personnel, thank them.
